Ivy’s Circle Method
The goal of Circle Thrice LLC – and in fact, my personal mission statement – is to Organize Enchantment at Home and in The World.
When I first became a project manager back in 2007, it occurred to me that the tools of project management — tools that the corporate world pays millions of dollars to develop and hire people to leverage — could be used to make my own creative projects run smoother and help me create the life I was longing for.
Over the years (so many years, OMG!), I’d steal all the best techniques from that world and combine them in ways that supported the creation of a more empowered, effective, and enchanted life.
This is reflected in all my books, courses, planners, and one-on-one consulting that I do over at Circle Thrice. And every time I roll out the information in a trial course or with my clients or in a group setting, I learn more about what works and how to jailbreak and enchant these techniques for personal use.
I originally approached this through the lens practical enchantment. This is how I create in the world, through my intuitive reading, ritual performance, and magical work. But as I put myself and my work out there, I found myself connecting more and more with other kinds of artists. People who were enchanting their lives and the lives of others through their writing, sculpture, film making, or painting. Artists creating real magic — and making the world a more enchanted, magical place — through their art.
Last year, one of my friends and clients called what I do “The Ivy Method” and it really resonated with me that this isn’t just a toolkit I draw from, but a unified whole. All the pieces fit together and create a way of viewing and being in the world that’s fundamentally different from either magical thinking or mundane project management.
It’s about setting realistic but enchanted goals, creating good habits, and getting better at integrating our day-to-day tasks – practical and creative. It’s a way to be successful as a creative, not letting the wider world bog us down or kill our creative passion. It’s a way to help us navigate through life’s craziness and position ourselves to make the best of whatever comes our way… and it’s wildly effective.
You don’t have to be a magician or think of yourself as a magician! If you are creating your world and creating in the world, you are making this enchantment happen. And I want to help.
Why should corporations hoard and hide the benefits of being flexible and organized? Why shouldn’t we use these same techniques to build the better world our hearts truly know is possible.
This is Ivy’s Circle Method. It’s repeatable, cyclical, flexible, and completely enchantable. It allows you to set and meet goals, keep your work and life organized, and form good habits — without losing the flexibility and creativity you need to make your art and be creative. It’s the opposite of rigid or prescriptive.
I genuinely believe that what you learn can help you craft your best life and make your best art.
